In 2019, Colorado West Christian School (CWCS), a ministry of Trinity Reformed Presbyterian Church in Montrose, CO, established a new campus in Delta, CO, located 30 miles away. With a commitment to serving the families of Delta County, Rivers Church generously agreed to host this campus. Since its inception, CWCS Delta has had the honor of educating and nurturing students in grades K-8. During this time, both families and students have flourished in their faith and knowledge, supported by a steadfast dedication to academic excellence and Christian growth from our administration and staff.
As of October 2025, the decision was made to transition CWCS Delta into an independent school. Rivers Church, committed to furthering the ministry of the school, decided to continue its operation, giving rise to the vision of Canyon Christian Academy.
Classes will commence in August 2026, with an expanded curriculum that will include offerings from Kindergarten through 12th grade to meet the growing demand for a biblically-based high school program. We are eager to embrace the present and aspire to a future filled with endless possibilities. Join us on this remarkable journey of education and empowerment.
